Our broker owners Jimmy Millhollin and Annette Gardinal work hard, but they also play hard.

The duo is still kayak fishing in their spare time and often head out early in the morning. Most recently, they’ve been exploring the Intracoastal Waterway south of Palm Coast in Edgewater.

Jimmy and Annette have recently been fishing in the pristine North Indian River which is on the Central East Coast and about an hour south of home. The water is brackish and part of the Mosquito Lagoon Aquatic Preserve where you can often see pods of Atlantic bottlenose dolphins looking for their dinner or playing in the current. It’s easy to launch their kayaks from Menard-May Park which is operated by the city of Edgewater.

Recently, they’ve caught trout, mangrove snappers, snook, redfish, and even a pufferfish. While fishing is a highlight, it’s fantastic to get out in the “real Florida” and enjoy stunning views over the marsh with numerous birds, fresh air, and sunshine. This is how to do Florida!
